"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth." 2 Timothy 2:15
To handle the word of truth, as God would have us do, we must study what the Word of God says so we can understand what it means to become more Christ-like.
There are endless opinions about life and philosophies --- about how we should live --- that could be read and studied. However, it seems wise that we should spend the majority of our time reading God's Word. Through this study of the Bible, students will understand and do what they are taught. We will become more like the Teacher, Jesus Christ. Because our time on earth is so short, we should use it to learn important truths from God's word --- they affect this life and eternity.
1 Thessalonians 4:11-12, Paul states, "Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody."
As Christians willing to share God's word in the Bible, we can't be effective in sharing our faith with others if they don't respect us. We must do whatever we do faithfully to be a positive force in sharing God's Word.
